StLase Modular Laser System Wins 2013 iF Product Design Award

The modular laser system stLase (represented in the global market under the brand name Alta ®), developed by Photonics, invested by Maxwell Biotech Venture Fund and RVC Seed Fund, together with U.S. partner company Dental Photonics Inc, has won a prestigious 2013 iF Product Design Award.

Building upon the years of research and development, stLase is the first dental laser platform with no obsolescence. This compact modular laser device allows for the integration of the targeted dental lasers intended for a wide range of treatment modalities. It is comprised of an upgradable central console and application-specific modules that can be easily and quickly attached to the side of the unit. The system is lightweight, portable, and can be placed on a table top or mounted on a wall for the ultimate flexibility required in any dental surgery setting. A 7” interactive touch screen allows for intuitive device navigation and easy viewing from multiple angles and distances.

For 60 years, the iF award remains an internationally recognized symbol for the best-in-class design. Sponsored by the International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover, Germany, the 2013 iF design competition received 3,011 entries. A world renowned jury evaluated the submissions utilizing 11 criteria including design quality, degree of innovation, ergonomics and functionality.

In 2012, Photonics completed registration procedures in Russia and held a number of marketing activities, which will allow the company to begin selling innovative laser system in Russia in early 2013.
